Introducing GEM who is a loving, friendly, goofy, playful and respectful dog.  He loves kids, swimming and outings.  He has been rescued and has lived with us for two months.  He has separation/anxiety at times when we need to leave him at home, he wants to be with people all the time.  Gem barks constantly when we are out, but is starting to relax a bit.  He listens well and comes when being called.   He pulls a bit on the lead, but walks OK.  We have noticed that he can get nervous if there is too much going on.  Gem has been well loved by our family, but he doesn’t like cats and actually chases them and attacks.  This can be quick and frightening.  We were told he was involved in fights before he was rescued.  This is the reason we can’t keep him.  Also possible he may attack chickens if he could get into the pen.   Gem currently lives with children (8 year old being the youngest) and he is great with kids.  Loves and thrives on attention and love.

Update: 4/1217 Mia is now on trial with her new family.

Mia is a young kelpie cross who came into our care with her litter of four puppies. The pups are now grown up and it’s Mia’s turn to find a home! She is a sweet dog who was quite shy at first but has become more relaxed and confident while in foster care. She was an amazing mum to her pups and has been enjoying living in a household with dogs, kids and a variety of other animals. She has kelpie energy and loves to play and get up to mischief with the other dogs, so would love to have canine interaction either in her new home or with regular visits to the dog beach or park.

If you are interested in meeting and adopting Mia, please complete the Adoption Application form available on the Contact page of our website or you can pick one up from our Op Shop in Brunswick Heads. Please return forms by email to cawidogs2483@gmail.com or in person at the Op Shop. Alternatively, contact Vicky on 0458461935 for more information about Mia. Applications and enquiries will be responded to on Fridays.

2/11/17 Update: Rocky is on trial with he’s new family

Rocky is an 18 month old labrador x kelpie. He is a lovely dog who loves going for rides in the car, going to the park or the beach and playing with other dogs. He came to CAWI after his previous owner became too ill to care for him. He has spent all his life living with another dog so would love the company of another canine in his new home, but will be happy to be the only dog in the house as long as he gets to play with other dogs at outings to the beach or park. Rocky is still young and, while he knows some basic commands, will need training and a good routine to help him settle into his new home. He is a quick learner so will no doubt learn the rules and routine of his new life easily and just needs a loving person or family to help him with it.

If you are interested in meeting and adopting Rocky, please complete the Adoption Application form available on the Contact page of our website www.cawi.org.au or you can pick one up from our Op Shop in Brunswick Heads. Please return forms by email to cawidogs@hotmail.com or in person at the Op Shop. Alternatively, contact Megan on 0458 461 935 for more information about Rocky. Applications and enquiries will be responded to on Fridays.
