By making a donation to CAWI you will be helping make a better life for abandoned, lost or surrendered animals in our shire. Your generosity will fund:
- extensive veterinary expenses (including de-sexing to reduce unwanted pets, and micro-chipping, which reduces lost pets)
- food, bedding, parasite prevention and other on-going canine maintenance costs
- advertising of dogs for adoption on the radio and in newspapers
- professional dog trainers where necessary, to help bring out the best in our dogs
MOST importantly your contribution will add to our building fund for the Byron Animal Shelter. We are partcipating in regular discussions with the Byron Shire Council regarding options for land on which to build the shelter. Together with CAWI, staff from the council are involved in investigating all avenues. A leased arrangement looks the best alternative for our venture at this stage.
