CAWI Adoption fees: CAWI charges adoption fees to help cover the costs we have spent on the dog. Every CAWI dog is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated, plus up to date with parasite prevention. Our fees for adoption are $300 for an adult dog, $350 for a puppy and $200 for a mature age dog.
CAWI takes pride in matching dogs with the right homes. We can advise on the dogs’ suitability as we have the insight gained by our foster carers. In addition, there is a 3 week trial and cooling off period for you and the dog – if things aren’t working out CAWI will take the dog back. We don’t want any mistakes for you or the dog.
The dogs on this page are CAWI rescue dogs. Some non-CAWI dogs that are looking for new homes are advertised on the PRIVATE ADS page.
Pounds often have nice dogs – there are some choice candidates advertised ON THIS PAGE OF OUR WEBSITE. It’s also worth contacting your local pound.

Update 9/3/17: Silky is on trial with her new owners.

Silky is a 2 year old Staffy x with an affectionate, loving nature. She just loves getting and giving cuddles! She also enjoys going for walks and swims at the beach and just being with her people. After some time in the pound, she is eager to find her forever home with a family who can give her plenty of love and attention. If you are interested in adopting Silky, please contact Megan on 0458461935.

Update: 26/2/17 Poppi is now on her trial period with adopters

Poppi is a 5 month old Kelpie x who just loves everybody! She has a lot of energy and an exuberant nature, but does know how to relax once she’s over the initial excitement. After spending some time at the pound with her sister (who was then adopted from the pound), she is in need of a home that can give her lots of love, exercise and lots of training to teach her some doggy manners. If you are interested in adopting Poppi, please contact Megan on 0458461935.

Update: Ernie has found a home !

Meet Ernie! This little guy is now looking for his forever home. He is a 3 year old Terrier X who is around 7kg, desexed and vaccinated.

He absolutely loves people and children and wants to make friends with everyone! He’s super gentle so would be good with children. Ernie has lots of energy in the mornings so ideally would like to start the day with a walk, however he’s a bit of a power napper in the afternoon and pretty chilled in the evenings. He’s super cuddly and his second favourite thing to do after walking is to snuggle up with his human.  He follows closely on your heels when not on a lead but will require some extra training once one lead. Being a people pleaser … it won’t take long to sort out this training issue. He is a natural home body, and would do best on a little property where he can run off some of his energy. He can get a little too stimulated in town or anywhere noisy or busy, but is totally fine if left alone at home for a few hours at a time. He would fit in well with another dog or two, as he plays well after an initial skirmish to work out who’s boss. If you are interested in making Ernie a part of your family, contact Megan on 0458 461 935.
